Hair trimming question?

I'm growing out my hair but I need to get it trimmed. Should I get just an inch off and go back in a month for another one? (So small trims) or just give one big cut? 😰

Just cut all the split ends at once because if you wait they'll get worse which will result in you having to cut more anyways(:
