sure am! lol I just really want something new. and Ive tried going blonde before after that I dyed my hair black and Now all the colors fade away and go straight to Blonde/Brown.

i recommend going to a professional.. :) although red is a fun color. . .i had ark red before, and it constantly turned orange on me:( and now that ive tried so many times to go back to brown, the red still creeps thru and you can tell my hair was red before .. lol i hate it.

Just don't leave the lightening product on very long. You don't want the hair too blonde, that way when the color fades it will show through with I nicer brownish blonde instead of a straw like blonde. Also leave the actual color on super long and only wash it 1-2 times a week afterwards if you can. Dry shampoo is red/violets friend, as is kerastase if you can afford it. I recommend manic panic if you want an awesome color that can last. The color and the developer are separate so you can seal and continue using the color after coloring for touch ups or add it to you shampoo, just make sure you have dark towels because you will have wash out with any brand. If your tired of blonde and like reds, look into some of the violet shades as well. They are beautiful and subtle and turn to pretty reds as they fade and then to a light brown if you don't over lighten on the front end. Good luck, hope you love it!

Leave the lightener on 5-10 max then 30-hour for the color if you want serious color. I have used every color. Love that stuff!

Manic panic come with one in the box, unless you want super bright you don't need to leave it in very long. Generally you lighten a ton when you want bright pink colors and such but when they fade you are left with straight up blonde yuck. Soooo you can achieve pretty color and less maintenance as is fades by only leaving the lightener on long enough to lighten about 2 shades or so, then you have pretty variations of the color as it fades instead of having to completely redo it. Also you can keep refreshing the color by adding the left over to your shampoo. Last time I used the purple with this technique and went all over dark no lightener with peek a boo streaks underneath that I lightened only a few shades and did a lighter purple. I was able to make the color last from August to October without needing a touch up

Red is the hardest color to get rid of it stays forever! Make sure it's something you want to stick with I had to learn the hard way :)

Manic panic will wash out eventually so you don't need to worry about being stuck with red you wi just be left with however light you took your hair before adding the color. This is good of you like the rockabilly type red you can also use it sans lightener to try it out first if ya want. But if you are looking for other shades of red you will need to use a more traditional brand and color. As long as you select Demi permanent it will was out with no worries. You can also get the non lightening Demi perm shades like herbal essence and play if you like that type of shade

You don't have to dye your hair ever 2-3 weeks if you use the correct products! I use sulfate and lather free shampoo, along with washing my hair twice a week. I use dry shampoo in between. The color lasts for two months or more. If you take care of the hair properly, it isn't hard to keep up at all.

Like Alli said its easy to maintain dark red hair, I've had mine dark red for a year and I just touch up my roots once every six weeks :)
