I usually applying liquid foundation with those triangle wedge applicators, I recently saw somewhere to wet or to make it damp first? What does this do?

I personally would suggest using brushes to apply liquid foundation. Typically, sponges "soak up" alot of the product and you aren't getting the max usage OR application from your product.
