I have always had straight hair. Its very fine but I have a ton of it. My hair will not curl period. I can create waves and those stay fine but never actual curls. I've used a wand, curling iron, flat iron, hot curlers, pin curls and the sponge curlers. Do you ladies have any tips on possibly getting my hair to curl? All ideas and pictures welcome!

I just curl it and pin the cruls down until they get cold. Also I find it works better when I use 2-3 day old hair

I recommend spraying your hair with dry shampoo. Get all the hair covered with dry shampoo so it "dirties" the hair. AKA it creates a texture for the heat to apply to. Then just curl with a wand/iron. Whatever you prefer. It should give a pretty good hold. Then also spray with hairspray to increase the longevity.

I have the same kind of hair and issue. I find d what works best is if I do a beachy wave the day before with Marc Anthony beach spray, then the next day before I curl I use dove's dry shampoo, it gives great texture to hold the curl. I have also used KMS products like hair play playable texture on clean hair to hold curl or as a hair spray after curling to hold curl. I have found these products to help hold a curl and keep it looking natural ie not stiff and over shellacked looking.

I have this same issue. Here are my tricks
-if for some reason you straighten your hair wash it before you curl it.
-lightly hairspray your hair before and after you curl it
-I find that clipless curling irons work better on our kind of hair
-make sure your peices aren't bigger then 1-1 1/2 inches
-invest in a nume wand if you haven't already. They last, heat up quickly, aren't as damaging as other wands, and I only hold me hair for half the amount of time I use to and get even better results.
-catch your curl once it comes up the iron and coil it back up into ring and pin it to your head and let it stay there untill the curl cools down, at least 15 minutes, the longer the better. (if you don't understand this part just say and I will explain better)
-like everyone has said curl your hair on second day hair
-curl in layers, it will make a huge difference.
Any question just say, sorry if I wrote to much

I have the same problem, I found that if I held the curl after curling it until it cooled it lasted longer. I also sprayed each curl with hairspray.
