So I changed my original nose ring to a hoop 3ish days ago and it still really hurts and it gets like crust around it on the hole on the top of my nose. I always thought you were supposed to move your piercing around a bit to make sure it doesn't get stuck but someone told me not to touch it so I stopped. But I feel like it just get stuck there and might grow over.. Like the skin. :( help?

is this a fault or something? I sent a reply to this exact post yesterday...? weird!!! but a recap of what I said just in case... just keep cleaning the crusty bits off regularly with salt water solution. I wouldn't use any anti bacterial or antiseptic stuff cos it can irritate. its just lymph. try not to play too much and only worry if it gets very painful AND swollen discharging pus. I've had mine done for years and it still gets like that when I swap jewelry. hope this helps! and sorry if you already seen it! x

hrmmm, I had this with my tragus when I change from a hoop to a stud, for me it was the metal in the stud that was irritating my skin so I went to a piercing place and got a stud from there. I was using Vaseline though to stop it from crustting and getting stuck. maybe give that a try

This happened to my navel piercing. I took care of it thinking that it would eventually go away, but it just broke through the skin after a while. I'm pretty sure it was because I switched to a lower grade metal ring. Make sure you use only the high quality stuff. Titanium is always a safe bet. My "toxic" ring was surgical steel.

@sarah yeah sorry I couldn't get back to the post I don't know what happened to it so I had to make it again :s. thanks girls that helps a lot. I got my hoop from Ardenes so would it be a crappy metal?

I don't know what that place is but if its not the surgical steel or titanium I agree that might be your source of irritation. maybe worth popping to a piercing place and picking up one from there as soon as you can x

I would not recommend Ardenes jewellery D= I bought belly button jewelry from them and its not that great. Seems to really irritate the piercing and I get more crusties and stuff =\

if you keep it clean it should settle down in a day or to. any piercing jewellery is like a foreign body that your body starts trying to attack like germs, so thats how you end up with that lymphatic fluid that makes the crusties so it'll settle down in a day or two. just watch for redness swelling and hot to touch and Or pus. anything else should settle down. like I say 17 years I've had mine for and it still happens to me! x
