Hello lovely ladies,
I decided I wanted red hair the other night and went out and got myself a Loreal Feria box dye (power reds r57 intense medium auburn).
It turned out way bright at the top and much darker than expected on the mid and bottom sadly. I was wanting a very bright red or magenta, similar to Jessica Rabbit or Ariel from Little Mermaid.
So my question is... could I apply Loreal hicolor magenta and red starting at the bottom and working my way towards the roots to try and brighten it up? I know it's supposed to lift a few levels of color so I was thinking this might be my solution, but I have never used the hicolor before and am a little nervous. If you have used it before please let me know what you think of my plan. I've tried googling this but haven't really found an answer yet.
Thanks ahead of time!

I'm sorry Traci I don't do hair or dye mine. my honest opinion is to go to a salon and see if they can lift away some of color on the ends or adjust the entire color. sorry. I just hate when people don't reply to my questions.

Thanks Kim, I appreciate the response. I wish I could afford a trip to the salon right now, lol, but sadly this girl is low on dough.
I have a good friend who is a professional hairdresser that I am waiting to hear back from for her opinion, just thought that some one on here might be more experienced than I with hair coloring and be able to answer sooner than my girlfriend.

Traci, I've used both, the only thing I can tell you about Loreal Hi Color is great, but if you use it over freshly died hair your results may be splotchy, it's best to wait a few weeks.

Good to know, thanks Kelly! I didn't even think about splotchy results.
I was thinking about maybe applying Color Oops, then doing a deep conditioning treatment, then doing the hicolor? I think I may just wait on it all now for a while as you suggested so I don't make it worse.

Hailey do you think the Feria r48 deep intense auburn would be dark enough to even it out? I don't want it too dark but I do want it to be even in color.

Or, embrace the ombre?? I actually think it's great, but I also have "white" hair, according to the kid's I work with (really light platinum) so I may be a little odd? :)

I actually really like it as is, maybe consider embracing it while you wait to re dye ;)

So I spoke with my friend who's a pro, and she has convinced me to wait it out for the next two weeks until she has time to come over and help me fix it. Thanks for the advice ladies, you saved me from making bad choices! =)
