I need highlighter help

I see ben nyes is awesome but any others? I heard eyeshadows can work? true?

You apply above your cheekbones,cupids bow and down the bridge of your nose. Yes, some eyeshadows can work as a highlighter but as with anything a light touch is required so you don't go out looking like a disco ball. A nice highlighter that is fairly popular is the NARS highlighter/illuminator in 'albatross'. It has a nice soft glow to it...a tinge of gold. It doesn't translate on the skin as glitter neither which is much appreciated. There is a liquid formula from Benefit that works great as well. I wish I could remember the name but my brain is shooting blanks at this moment. Oh and also its best to apply the highlighter after you apply your blush. What I usually do is follow up with using my stippling brush after blush and highlighter application and just kinds blend it together to cancel out any harsh lines.

There are 3 Benefit liquid highlighters: High Beam (more of a pearl color), Moon Beam (a silvery color), and Sun Beam (a golden-bronze, could be used as a highlight for darker skin tones). Just be careful with whatever you choose to use as a highlighter, too much can make you look like a disco ball as Shelley said and many highlighters can cause skin to look oily and accentuate pores if you use too much.

If a beginner, it's better to start with powders, that's how I started.

ok thank u all!!! I've never used one, and I've been doing makeup forever, but obviously I'm not that good if I don't even know what I'm talking about as far as highlighters go! I appreciate you ladies!
