I always like the red lip classic with a black liner on top! And dont forget the big lashes ...Simple face makeup let the lips be the main focus !

Try using a red stain or gloss instead. Maybe if you ease yourself into the idea if a red lip, it'll be less shocking. I love Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, they're very light feeling and leave a nice touch of color. It could also be that you haven't found the right red for you. I know I prefer the way blue-based reds look on me. If you go to a makeup counter or Sephora, you can ask for help finding the right red for your skin tone, and then you can try to find dupes of it so you can have some drugstore options to choose from as well. I used to be so apprehensive when wearing red lips because I thought it looked strange on me, but now I rock red any time, any place! Good luck!

I just went for it the first time I tried it. It's either easing in or just going for it. Try NYX's red soft matte lip creams for a go. They're a lot easier to try.

Honestly how I finally broke into red lipstick was wearing it on a cruise. I had convinced myself no one knew me, & I could just do it. It gave me the confidence to then wear it on the plane ride home. And then on a date, and now I wear it all the time. It's not about the red lips, bevause who doesn't look gorg in a red lip, it's about the confidence!!

How do you do the rest of your makeup when you wear it? It might be that you're not putting enough emphasis on the rest of your face so you feel like the red lip is dominating everything else too much. Try doing some simple gel liner just along the lash line and on the bottom waterline, a couple coats of volumizing mascara, blush to bring some color to your cheeks, and a classic blue red (I've been using Revlon's Fire and Ice lately, completely love it). That way your face looks balanced but with a pop on the lips. Other than that, it's just the confidence to love that people are looking at your lips!
