Dead hair help :(

I know there's a lot of these but my bestie has hair problems...only her roots are nice, the rest is dead and dry, I've encouraged her to go all natural for a while but is there any other tips?? I've heard of eggs and oils ...help! this is a picture of her...she doesent want to cut her hair :(
