Today I eagerly downloaded this app anticipating learning about various beauty topics. However, after just a quick cruise through the forums, it appears as though I have gone through a portal to a middle school bathroom where the only conversation is teenage girls asking each other if they are pretty, fat, etc. I cannot believe one poster uploaded several pics of herself to aid in getting her shallow compliments. In her cheer costume, full make-up. This girl knows she looks nice and wants everyone to know it AND tell her.
Then suddenly the posts are themed "Let's not bully these poor girls." Give me a break! Each girl posting the "Am I pretty" crap NEEDS to be told that it is immature and that perhaps their CHARACTER needs more work than their appearance. Pointing out shallow, attention-seeking, manipulative, immature behavior isn't bullying; it's a corrective behavior strategy.
So, if these girls and their desperate need for validation is the norm here, I'll happy delete the app and look for a more mature site. I hope there are other mature women here who will unite and use the site as it was marketed/intended to be. I'll even settle for a forum moderator blocking these stupid "tell me how cute I am" threads.
I am certain that my inability to tolerate teenage crap has ruffled a few feathers. I am a middle school teacher so I have a zero tolerance for this kind if thing. Not to mention I'm a little ticked that no review of this app mentioned the teenage girl problem.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a BEAUTIFUL New year.
