This doesn't work by the way hahaha I've tried all of these methods and the steam method and it works for an hour or so, but then slowly goes shiny. I recommend the Sally Hansen matte top coat, I've been using it for months and it's fantastic.

I've heard that cornstarch is a mess!! Try the top coats you can buy. I know I've used the NYC one- cheap and effective.

Wet and wild sells a matte top coat too for like $1 and if you're lucky you may even get it for less! I got my bottle for $0.69!

I bought a matte top coat and it did great except it dried and made my nails look like the grand canyon with weird gouges.
