What is the best way to go about doing this? Everyday? Leave it on over night? Just straight lemon juice? My scarring needs answers lol

I soaked the cotton part of a large bandaid in fresh squeezed lemon juiced and slept with it on my arm...I had a gnarly scar from a grease burn...after about 3 months I wasn't noticing much of a difference other than the skin being softer...so I broke down and bought mederma and in 2 months it wasn't raised anymore and had almost gone away completely
