I would say it's the right category in my mind lol anyways I think you should go as something cute. but not slutty as most girls think Halloween is an excuse to dress slutty lol.
Maybe a nerd? get some cute big glasses a white polo shirt, hair in pigtails and pink suspenders? that'd be pretty cute!

You can always do a group. my friends and I are being ninja turtles green shorts, tank tops and masks etc. I'd talk with your friends and see if there's something to do as a group! I think it makes it more fun that way!
