I want to be able to do these awesome theatrical makeups like with prosthetics and stuff but I know I have to start small but I don't know how I can start. Any ideas.

YouTube is great but be careful
Some people aren't that good at it that make videos
Madeyewlook is an amazing one to look up. She doesn't do a lot with prosthetics but a lot can be learned by her with the makeup part

And Ben nye has good like fake blood and wax which also work well on stage if you are planning to do like stage makeup.

Start with buying the cheaper products (fake blood, greasepaint, scar wax) as the sfx products can get really pricey, it also takes a lot of patience and practice to get good at it.
