My hair is naturally very coarse and curly, so I've had bad luck with it ever since I can remember. I'm 15, and I have to straighten my hair to even walk out of the house. its just SO THICK and huge when curly, plus I have short hair so its just impossible to even tie when curly. I really want to grow my hair back out, but I of course can't give up my hair heat. Is there any scalp products or tips for growing out my hair while still being able to straighten it?(:

I want to grow it out so I can be able to mousse it and wear it curly when ever I want!

The easiest way to make your hair grow is to keep it healthy. Don't mistake me, the rate at which your hair grows is determined by genetics, and nothing you can do will make your hair grow faster than it naturally would at its healthiest.

First, trim any split ends. If you don't, they will keep splitting up the shaft and ruin even more of your hair. That means that when you do finally cut your hair, you'll have to cut off even more of it to get rid of the splits

Second, invest in a sulfate and sodium chloride free shampoo and conditioner (I like the L'oreal EverStrong, as well as Pureology, because my hair is constantly died and Pureology is great for maintaining that. Occasionally, I use the Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo, which is neither sulfate free nor for dyed hair, but it makes my hair feel SO clean, and that's not the worst thing once in a while), and a hair mask or deep conditioner (I like Macadamia Deep Repair Masque and the L'oreal Power Moisture Mask). In the shower, wash your hair first thing, shampoo only the roots and condition from your ears down. After that, apply your mask, focusing on the ends of your hair. Finger comb until you don't feel any knots, and then put your hair in a bun. Leave it that way for the rest of your shower, washing it out should be the last thing you do. I wash my hair around 3 times a week (with dry hair I can get away with it) and do the hair mask every time. If you need to wash your hair more than that, reduce your hair mask usage to 3 times :) make sure you're finger combing your hair in the shower so that you don't have to brush it, because brushing it can break it off like heck.

Third, in terms of heat protectors, I like the Tressemme and It's a 10 Leave in Plus Keratin. However, I advise you to cut out heat styling as much as possible (It's not the worst thing as long as you take care of your hair, so if you can't I wouldn't worry).

That's my hair routine, my entire head is bleached and it is just as healthy as it was before I dyed it.

Tons of alcohol and wax in drug store products, they are cheap for a reason, pathenol is in a lot of them, that is actually where Pantene gets it's name, and then there is a common chemical in all of them that is in draino as well, I can often scrape the wax off of my clients hair at work. Wax keeps the moisture from getting into the cuticle and the toxins from getting out. They are cheap bc they are harmful or bc they do nothing at all. A lot of my clients who use Pantene have lost a lot of their hair. I wouldn't be surprised if the others do very much the same. If you want to grow your hair use professional only. The money is worth it seriously.
