I recently went to a dermatologist and he told me that I had severe genetic acne, so he put me on some pills that start with an S or something and he gave me epiduo and stuff. He said that if these products didn't work I would have to go on to accutane. And I don't really know what it is except that it's one of the strongest pill out there.

Does it like mess up you're health? Or like what are some side effects of it?

I did accutane and I had TERRIBLE acne before it and now I rarely get a blemish.

They give you a book of potential side effects but they are ask so unlikely! 5 people in my extended family including my sister went on it and we are all give.

I did it when I was in my late twenties and wish I'd done it years before!! It's a pain while you're on it, my lips were so dry and chapped they bled. That was the hardest, seriously sooooo uncomfortable, I tried everything on the market, oddly Neosporin first aid cream was the only thing that helped. You have to be on birth control for thirty days before starting, and take a survey each month to make sure you aren't going to get pregnant. Birth defects are serious and guaranteed while on it, but you are fine once it's out of your system. They check your cholesterol each appointment, I had mine go up a tad after six months, they told me to eat less cheese, fat etc.but once again perfect after. The paperwork, tests and birth control are mandatory and strictly controlled and it's all that stuff that's the biggest pain, (of course, it's the life if a child at risk, so I understand!) All in all, I'd do it again if given a choice! I wish I'd done it a month or two longer, after two or three years I started getting a little acne again, but only a little. If I'd taken it for a full seven months, maybe nothing ever again! The only downside for me was that my lips get chapped very, very easily, I always keep them slathered with the thickest coconut based stuff I can find at night! Hope this helps you all!! 😘😘😘😘

I went on accutane it cleared my acne up but it did return but I've managed to get it under control, I suffered really badly with the side effects :/ that's just my experience though! It did work though! The side effects included massive blisters on the underside of my feet ( whole of the underneath) which I had to go hospital for numerous times, my hair fell out like crazy, the chapped lips were awful I basically couldn't talk without them bleeding, Carmex helped a lot and there were many more side effects but I won't bore you! Everyone's different and we all have different skin so it's going to work differently for everyone and we all get effected differently X.
