Hailey, I know a lot of people that use a matte bronzer to contour. It's not the correct way to do it, yes. But everyone has different preferences on which they use.

I sincerely believe that as long as the bronzer is not orange based (neutral/cool brown is better), you can totally contour with it, but you need to be extra choosy with the color! To answer your question, where I live they don't sell contouring kits anywhere so I use a matte taupe (cool-toned) eyeshadow. If the brown is very dark, you need to be VERY good at blending, otherwise choose a lighter brown, as long as it's not warm toned.

I agree, I think a bronzer can be used for contouring as long as it's a cooler bronzer. true that most bronzers are warmer, since that's the point of them, but if you find a cooler then you can use it. I actually own the anastasia contouring kit, and one of the powders in it matches the balms Bahama mama bronzer spot on.

The whole point of a bronzer is to add a sun kissed glow to your face, for that reason, they are orange toned. It being matte or shimmery doesn't matter at all.

True Ramsha but that's why you would use a bronzer for the sun kissed look but not for the sculpting effect you want when you contour.
