I think it really depends on what you do to your hair.
When I cut my hair that short, it was more maintenance. Why?
Because I'm Dominican. :P
So the whole idea of shorter is easier was very backwards for my hair type.
If you straighten it a lot, I say go for it. But if you like to wear it natural I say let it grow!

When I was relaxed I loved my bob but I also was always using a flatiron and curl wand but yeah try pin curls & flexi rods or even braiding it at night and taking it down in the morning :)
