Hi princesses!!...I don't want to apply makeup on a regular basis. I do my regular skin care routine for oily skin and apply moisturiser on a day to day basis. Even when I am out for work moisturiser is only what I apply and I like my skin the way it is now. Is it necessary to apply a bb cream or something else than moisturiser to protect skin from the environment (other than sunscreen..like bb cream or foundation)...because I believe less is more for skin..meaning the less products applied better the skin is..is it true?..or do we have to apply bb cream or something else when stepping out to protect the skin..please help!

Well, seeing as American bb creams are nothing more than tinted moisturizers, no lol. The ones I've come across cannot even call themselves that. They offer no moisture, no SPF, and no blemish treatment. I found most of the ones I sampled quite useless. I think a lot of people just use them because they are sometimes a little easier and quicker than a full out foundation. They usually are lighter in consistency as well.
I don't really think it matters how many products you use, unless those products are reacting with each other or are causing some other skin sensitivities. When it comes to skincare it's honestly all about what works best for YOU. Not everyone needs the same products or routine. Some can just wash their face and put on moisturizer and be done and have perfect, glowing skin. Others cannot lol. It's all a matter of personal preferences I feel.
The only thing I think EVERYONE should use is a moisturizer with SPF or some other type of SPF on a daily basis, not just in summer months. SPF is present even (especially, actually) when it's cloudy or snowy. If you are concerned about adverse effects pollution and dirt may have on your skin I recommend products from Origins. They have a lot of products that have antioxidants in them that help with environmental factors like that. The ones I'd recommend most are the A Perfect World Antioxidant moisturizer with white tea and SPF and their A Perfect World Skin Guardian. I haven't been able to try it myself (it is pricey but it sounds so nice lol) but from what I understand it's sort of like a primer but not. It basically shields your skin from pollution and whatnot. But I don't believe it has SPF and it may not moisturize. But if its something you're concerned about you may want to add it or something like it to your routine. If not, I have tried the moisturizer and it's wonderful. It's very light and non-greasy but is very hydrating and smells nice. It's pricey too but I feel its worth it. When I start work again it will be my every day moisturizer once again :)

On average my skin comes in contact with 8 products.
*cleanser
*toner
*enzyme peel
*rose water spray
*serum
*moisturizer
*eye cream
Depending on what's going on with my skin on a daily basis determines on how many I reach for. Sometimes more is best especially if you're trying to combat fading of acne scars,anti-aging/prevention all at the same time. That's how I've maintained my clear skin and I'm 40. As far as bb creams go I can't use the Asian one's because there are none on the market for my skintone so Western is the way for me and I've had great success with them. Garnier BB for oily/combo skin has helped keep my oil production under control, Bobbi Brown BB cream keeps me matte while at the same time keeping my skin moisturized plus it plays well with my daytime serum and Smashbox BB cream has done awesome at clearing my skin of any active acne (which thankfully now its a rare event). All three have decent spf and play well with my skincare products. I agree with Caitlin that skincare is variable based on people's needs so while some might think my collection of skincare products excessive I think otherwise because it works for me and might not work for another. I do a lot of rotating of products because of where I live (Florida) and what I'm trying to achieve with my skin. What works great for winter does not work during the hot/humid months.

A spf and moisturizer is great but you really want to protect your skin from free radicals, they attack your skin ,destroy your collagen and age you,the only thing that can't fight free radicals are antioxidants, free radicals are unpaired molecules so they latch on to yours, antioxidants are important because they can deactivate them before they attack your cells so ,vitamin C serum,or antioxidant serum is a must for protecting your skin against this.
