Go to a salon, it don't really matter about having to cut off I would recomend that anyways when you get it done , it's going to be a little weak afterwards. I didn't have a problem dying my hair at home , your just need a toner and such. Go to Sally's and ask them about it they'll show you what you need.

Make sure to have some deep conditioning treatments around because you'll probably want to use them frequently depending on how your hair feels after the bleach. Your hair will be extremely fragile for the first few weeks after the first/second bleach so don't be rough with it when it's wet and try to let it air dry as much as possible. I use a wide toothed comb if I'm going to brush my hair to be sure there isn't going to be any breakage and if you really feel like your hair is frizzing/dehydrated try an argan/maroccan oil in your hair after every wash, another thing I like to do to help keep my hair softer for longer is put a smoothing spray or serum in at night while my hairs damp. Hope that helps :) good luck!
