Usually when I have trouble sleeping, I do a bunch of push-ups and sit-ups before bed to raise my heart rate. Once I get in bed, it's easier to fall asleep because my heart rate is already slowing.

Working out before bed, actually wakes you up, but working out 5 or so hours before bed and being active helps you go to sleep, it just depends on anyone though

I like to meditate before bed. It really helps calm you down. For waking up set an alarm 10 minutes before your regular alarm. When that alarm rings grab your phone/iPod and go on it and when your actual alarm rings you get up. That sort of screen helps wake you up.

When I have a hard time falling asleep I find a good and short bed time yoga on youtube. It helps relax the muscles and clear your mind. It makes me feel more tired and ready for sleep.
