HELP- what colour to dye my hair?

My hair is a tad shorter now i just got a trim last week its a brown but can be quite light at times (in the sun). I've never dyed my hair before but i would really love to! i need a change ! lol just not too sure what colour ..
or yeah soo .. suggestions ??? :)
