Lol I don't know if I'd take it as a complement... it depends on what they mean like ew you look foreign. or wow you look foreign where are you from. but saying you look foreign is kinda random lol;)

I get called foreign/exotic all the time. It's basically not having the typical blond hair blue eyed look. I have obvious ethnic hair but I am very fair skinned so people always ask me my nationality. I use to take offense because people gawk at me like I'm a lab rat- but I'm over it.

I get it all the time. people always say I look "exotic" or "foreign". I thought it was so weird at first lol. it just means that you look like you're from a different country, I assume you live in America? I'm in Canada and I always get people thinking I'm European because I have dark hair and thick eyebrows and very pale skin. I would take it as a compliment :)

I get it all the time as well. I live in los angeles california people always try and guess what my nationality but for some reason I always get that I look Armenian or I'm from Spain. lol but then they say I'm too light skin to be. haha but I like to take it as a compliment because obviously you look amazing and different that you catch peoples eyes :)

Foreign does work both ways, so if you're in Japan and someone says it to you, then you don't look Japanese.
It can be taken as a compliment or an insult, all depends on tone and expression.
