If you curl your hair all over with a curling wand you can either leave it down, pin up one side above the ear or just grab small pieces of hair and pin back for a messy updo. If your hair is long enough, my friend made 3 loose braids in her hair then pulled out some parts of the braids a tiny bit to loosen them more then she rolled it up to her scalp and pinned it down. I'll try to find a pic.
