Tweezers don't hurt. However, I find my eyebrows look their best when they've been threaded, which hurts a lot more, but is totally worth the clean edges.

I think that maybe, you are using the tweezers wrongly. It's best if you pluck your eyebrows straight out of the shower, because you pores are open, which makes hair removal easier.
Also, you have to pluck the hair in the direction it s growing for it to be painless. I think maybe you aren't doing this, and that is why it hurts so much
