I would continue to avoid heat products and anything that's chemicals in it. I would also try a few DIY hair treatments to give it some moisture and what not. Here a couple recipes if you're interested:
1tsp olive oil
3Tbs honey
1egg white
I usually leave it in for up to 20 minutes. I hope this helps in any way!

@Garbiela I agree with Emilia too. The heat styling is holding you back. =) For hair care regimens that feature lots of heat styling, you've really got to stay on top of your deep conditioning routine. Be sure to deep condition your hair with a moisturizing deep conditioner at least 1x per week for 15 mins with heat. (Hooded dryer heat/warm towel/etc).
Protein reconstructing is important too, but moisture should really be your focus. Heat damaged hair is usually quite porous, so you'll want to rebuild that moisture balance as much as you can and reduce your exposure to heat styling tools. For moisture, Kenra, Biolage, Aubrey Organics and Herbal Essences (for bargain shoppers) are great!
Also, your wet hair will help you decide whether you need more moisture or protein in your regimen. Wet hair that feels limp, gummy, stretchy (think overcooked pasta) needs more protein. Wet hair that feels hard, stiff, rough and weak needs more moisture. When in doubt, go with moisture. =D
One final thing-- once your hair has been damaged, conditioners can do quite a bit to improve the look of your hair temporarily-- but they can't permanently repair the damage. You'll have to slowly trim away the fried hair while you keep on with the conditioning. =D
