Hiya guys, so basically for the last few years I've been washing my hair more or less everyday in the morning, but then a few hours after blow drying, my scalp is all greasy and my tips are dry and fluffy! I can't find any way to fix my problem without another conjuring up! E.g. I put extra conditioner on to stop the fluffiness and dryness but then my hair gets extra greasy and vice versa!!! I don't want to take any drastic measures with my hair, and I want the solution to be cheap and easy please :)

Your hair is probably getting greasy so quickly because you're washing it too much! Seems like it doesn't make any sense but it does... When you wash your hair, the shampoo is stripping the natural oils from your scalp and hair. Even more oils will be created if you over wash your hair because it is desperately trying to make up for everything you shampoo out of it every single day. If you start washing it less, you will see everything balancing out just by doing something as simple as cutting back on daily shampooing.
I used to have hair that would get oily by the end of the day with dry ends because I washed my hair every single morning before I went to school. Once I got to college and I got lazy/careless with the irregular class/sleeping schedules, I started washing my hair every other day and using more gentle products like sulfate free shampoo. It never really looked to greasy soon after I quit shampooing daily! When I was in the shower on off days, I would either keep my hair dry in a shower cap or I would just run a tiny bit of conditioner through my ends. Now I try t wash my hair no more than three times a week and it looks pretty awesome and not very greasy, ever!
I almost never have to use dry shampoo or baby powder anymore, but they will really help with the greasiness between washings until your hair gets adjusted. You can spray your dry shampoo or sprinkle some baby powder on your roots and it will soak up some of the oil and probably make you feel a thousand times better!
As for the dry ends, I actually add oil to my hair everyday and I do weekly coconut oil treatments. I put Argan Oil on the ends of my hair only, not near the scalp! and I do that when I get out of the shower and my hair is wet. Putting the oil on the ends of your hair when wet will seal in moisture but not make your hair oily or greasy looking! Its fabulous! You should also consider putting a heat protectant on your hair before you blow dry it, that will probably stop the ends from getting as dry and fluffy!
You don't have to break the bank to do any of this. You'll probably save money by laying off daily shampooing. I have a sample sized heat protectant I got from Sally's which is still 75% full after using it for more than 6 months and it cost me about $2.99. The argan oil I use in my hair is from "one n' only" and its probably around $10 for a bottle. I've had my bottle for a year and a half and I still have about 40% left! Its amaaaazzzzinnnnggg. As for dry shampoo, you can use baby powder which is probably around your house anyways. If you want to try a dry shampoo, Pssssst! is one of the better dry shampoos and also one of the cheapest, I think I bought a travel sized can for $1. Batiste dry shampoo also seems to be loved by many and I think it goes for about $6 for a full sized can.
