My friend said needle is less pain than gun!

Oh please get it done by a professional with a sterile needle! guns can not be properly cleaned and can shatter your cartilage, which results in a huuuge swelling and infection. talking from personal experience. also, any serious piercer will always use a needle on cartilage.

Needle is safer

Definitely a needle. Guns are for earlobes only.

Definitely a needle, should never have a piercing done with a gun, it's never as sterile as a needle and when they pierce it with a gun they're actually piercing it with that blunt jewelry which will stunt the healing process and causes the piercing to be more prone to infection.

I'm pretty sure you can only use a needle for cartilage

No I had my helix done with a gun. I did have some issues with it healing and after if grew over (3 years ago) I still randomly have shape never pain in the spot where it was pierced. FYI don't try to save money and go to Claire's for a cartilage piercing xD but yes go to somewhere like Area 51 that specializes in body piercings. They will use a needle.

Needle all the way. people who pierce with guns are not certified. go to a piercing shop they are trained professionals

I had my cartilage done at claires a few weeks ago and they used a gun, but they were like different plastic guns for every person so they are very clean. I've cleaned it every day I've had no problems. it wasnt very painful either

Omgggg NEVER get it done with a gun, no matter what piercing it is. Guns carry a lot of bacteria and will almost definitely infect your piercing. Go to a professional who knows how to use needles! Believe me, people are saying that guns hurt less, but its going to hurt waaayy more when its infected lol :p.

Gun! :) some say it's bad for you but I've gotten 7 piercings with a gun one is in the cartilage and it didn't even really hurt and I've never had an infection.

Oh and my experience is exactly the same as May's. :)

I think it seriously depends on the person. Guns CAN be unsanitary but everywhere I have gone, they cleaned the gun. And my bad experience with my piercing was partly my fault because I didn't clean it everyday. But I do think the chick at Claries shattered my cartilage or damaged a nerve or something.

It really does matter though, guns don't pierce a clean hole because they're using the blunt jewellery to pierce you, that in itself isn't good for a piercing.
