I always use different name brands. It really doesn't matter.

I also use products from different lines. Products from the same line isn't necessary. if you know what works for you, go for it!

Its just a marketing ploy. I use a mix of product brands for my hair. The company I go to for my cleansers are great at cleansing but their stylers are horrible while another line that I use for styling has a horrible cleansing line. I pick and choose...

It doesn't matter at all! companies just want you to keep buying from them to increase their profit and decrease their competition. :) if you find products that work for you, then its awesome! :) I personally prefer to buy the matching shampoo and conditioner for only one reason... I like the consistency of the scent :) hahahaha

I agree, its all about the actual product, not the brand. If it works, use it! lol. I use a mix of all kinds of brands for pretty much everything. I don't think any brand really has a line of products that I find to be so perfect that I use just them strictly. Products work differently for everyone though, so as long as it works for you its all good :)

I'm personally a tad OCD about my shampoo n conditioner being the same brand but I often mix up formulas like I usually mix conditioners especially - but I don't think it makes much difference if you use different brand of shampoo vs conditioner - it might not be wise to mix different brand products together but I don't think anything too bad will happen from it but with any and all chemicals you should always use caution when mixing :)
