I want to dye my hair with natural henna powder. How do you mix it? I want no chemicals, just natural, healthy henna hair. How long do you keep the henna in before washing it out?

One of my friends and former roomie uses Henna to colour her hair, she uses the Henna by Lush Cosmetics. Make sure you read the ingredients on your Henna packet cuz many Henna companies claiming to see natural Henna add synthetic dyes to it. Natural Henna powder is mixed with water usually, although some people add conditioner too. Then form a thick paste (the same consistency as non drip hair colour), and smooth on to hair with a brush, keep it on for atleast an hour and upto 3 hours. Then rinse well and condition.

Natural Henna only imparts a deep red colour to hair, so thats what your hair colour would be. Lush Cosmetics Henna comes in Brown and Red shades.

I used lush henna in noir and it made my hair red and I wanted black and I started with dark hair to begin with.. Do a strand test I wish I had before hand.
