I have loads of awful fairly dark freckles how can I reduce their appearance or gladly take them away.

Embrace the freckles! I have light freckles ( 6 on one side and 1 on the other) I use to be made fun of because I was the only latina with freckles, but as I moved to highschool I.met other gurls who had them too! plus I think they are so cute; think of it not as an imperfection but see them as something beautiful??
