Sooo I've never gotten a Brazilian wax . But I'm so over shaving so do you think it would be better to get them professionally done or buy my own waxing kit ? If you recommend the kit where could I find one ?

If you're usually good at doing these kind of things then you could try it yourself otherwise I would go to a professional because you might end up in a sticky, painful mess!

I prefer doing it professionally when I can afford it. Its kind of a disaster with home kits if you're not used to them. Most of my friends will go to a professional and that's what I prefer but I have one friend that can magically do it herself at home(though we all have tried).
I just get nervous about home waxing kits and I personally stay away from them. But thats just me.
If anything, I would go to a professional first =)

Totally depends on you. I could never do it because it takes me forever to psyche myself into it! Lol but it's a piece of cake when a professional does it, compared to me.

Haha I do all my own waxing at home and I always have. I don't really like the idea of having a stranger do it so I much prefer to do it myself!

I recommend going to a professional first just so you know what your in for. I remember waxing my legs for the first time & it was a little painful & I couldn't finish the job myself, so try a pro out first & if you like the results you could try purchasing an at home kit & try it out. It's a little tricky waxing yourself but practice makes perfect :)

If you opt for the DIY a great kit is the Gigi mini pro waxing kit or satin smooth kit.

I personally would go to a pro. One, it's really hard to reach! lol and two, don't take painkillers. If you want, use an icepack before so it numbs a little. And if you're going for a wax down there, I would get a Hollywood. It takes everything, where as some salons will only take the top part if you ask for a Brazilian.

Definitely get it done professionally at-least for the 1st time, otherwise you would never know what exactly to do. It hardly takes any time at all when you getting it done professionally while it takes a while to do it by yourself (May be I was not that good with it). Also you would get a fair idea of how much pain you would need to deal with while doing it yourself. I have been waxing for about 3 years but its only recently that I mustered enough courage to do it all by myself...so basically you get the point. :) & good luck if you decide to do it by yourself :)

I would definitely ho to a pro. So many things can happen from an improper wax like ingrowns, burns, depending on the wax they use lifting an excess of skin or the hair not being pulled at the root and breaking at the follicle. There is so much more to waxing than people think, and a brazilian is not like waxing on your face. It's such a sensitive area and the trick is to get it done quickly with as minimal pain. Most will use a hard wax since it only adheres to the hair and doesn't pull skin like soft waxes do. If you do decide to do yourself see if you can find a class on how to do it because you could really hurt yourself if done improperly. Goodluck!

Well since I'm a trained aesthetician I taught my fiancé how to do it properly and he does the parts that are too painful to do myself. I do a full Brazilian though (EVERYTHING) not just the pubic hair on the vulva.

So Ave I probly wouldn't even tolerate the pain to do it myself ?

You girls make this sound so painful D:

I don't think its painful, unless you're doing it yourself and you know exactly when to expect it... Its not painful when someone else does it! I just can't "commit" to one quick pull which is the only thing that would hurt lol

Don't get the wax strips, use hard wax. A couple of spots hurt, none of it's that big a deal after the first one. I'm not comfortable going to a pro for that one. Personally get less ingrowns waxing than with shaving. It's really doesn't hurt THAT much.

Thanks ! Could I find hard wax in a drug store ? Or would I have to go to a beauty store

I use hard wax, and doing it yourself hurts wayyy more than letting someone else do it. It's not pleasant, but worth it.

You could probably find hard wax at a drug store (I get mine from cosmoprof but you need to be licensed to shop)

Go to a pro for the first time and def take painkillers beforehand! After the initial waxing the hair will grow back finer and lighter and it'll be a LOT less painful.

I prefer to go to a special waxing facility. They do an amazing job and if last forever.

Ahhh jacy ! If they do more than just the wax ill deff just stick to pro's... I had no idea they pulled at the skin first
