Hair chalk experiences?

Has anyone had good experiences with hair chalk? I am wanting to try some subtle looks with chalk. Does the hair get a nasty texture? Does it damage hair? I am looking at something like this...

My daughter tried this and it makes hair very dry...doesn't last long and can get very messy.

I actually use hair chalk on my 7 year old daughter for spirit days at school. what I do is use a spray hair oil (lightweight) then use a brush to apply it to the section that I sprayed, that way it keeps the hair from drying out and it intensifies the chalk pigment. hope that helps :)

I've used the colour bug by Kevin murphy in pink on the ends of my hair and it worked pretty well it was pretty messy though so I definitely recommend wrapping a towel over your shoulders before you do it 😄 they're a great temporary product to try out different looks with so if you hate it, it's all good it'll come right off in the shower.
