How to apply cream foundation?

Hey girls,
I have acne & milia, and I want to cover this with my cream foundation. I've tried with a buffing brush, but didnt really work. What techniques can I use?

What I have found to be the best applicators for cream products and more coverage would be the wedge sponges/beauty blender

You could also wet a brush, wring out the excess water, then dip into the cream foundation.
