So I'm really frustrated. I do everything I can to prevent split ends. I don't brush my hair when it wet, I use a wide toothed comb for that. I use a leave in conditioner. I rarely use heat. Like maybe once a week and always use a heat protectant when I do. I sleep in a satin sleep cap. Like I said. Everything!! So does anyone know any other way I can prevent split ends?? Any products I can use. I'm just at a loss here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Just like Ana said, preventing split ends won't work if you already have them. They'll just keep splitting higher up the shaft of your hair. Really the only thing to do to prevent it is to cut off the dead ends, then continue taking care of your hair like you are.

I would recommend castor oil. Just leave it for 1 hour or more if you have time, then wash it out. I have bleached my ends few month ago and I have been using castor oil before washing my hair and it worked so well and my hair is not damaged at all. Hope that helps!

Even though you can do all that, you're never going to be 100% of every one of your split ends. You can get rid of most but not all, it's impossible. And anyways the only person that really sees them is you so I'd say try to keep doing that stuff and don't stress too much over it.
