So recently I have been looking into to trying the oil cleansing method. I read a bunch of really great reviews on it but also some reviews that said it worked terribly for them. Have any of y'all tried it?

It's really trial and era with any skincare routine ,oil cleansing is not a miracle cure for acne infact somtimes it can make it worse ,although oil cleansing can dissolve surface oil it can't penetrate your pore walls to get to the bacteria where acne starts,it has no effect on hormonal breakouts and in some cases makes normal skin have breakouts ,it really depends on your skin.

I agree with Traci, not everyones skin react the same.
Be very careful because you can easily ruin your skin!

I highly recommend giving it a try... I use the oil cleansing method, and it has improved my skin Alot. But as Traci, said, it's not a miracle cure... Nothing is. I have found that the people who end up most impressed with the OCM are those with blackheads and those who suffer from either very dry or very oily skin. The OCM is the best method I have seen (short of prescription meds) that visibly reduces blackheads - and it does it quickly. It's also great for dry skin because it leaves it so moisturized.

Traci is absolutely correct.
It's 50/50, either it works or it doesn't. There is no scientific data on it at this point.

If you just have black heads, this method is awesome. I had some.

When I tried it, I got the worst breakout of my life. D:
Cystic acne galore. Took forever to get rid of them.
Best of luck to you, if you try it. :o

I personally love the OCM, my skin has never looked better. But it definitely is trial and error with skin care. Everybody reacts different.

I am loving the method. You should google lenoleic acid in oils , those are the ones that are compatible with acne prone skin. I'm using castor oil with a bit of grapeseed oil, followed with a hot wash clothe. I apply vitamin e to scars or spots and tea tree oil carefully on an acne. Hope this helps, always look at the ingredients and see if it's natural and pure.

I use castor and avocado oil. Works great!! No breakouts. I put the oil then sit in a hot bath or go to bed. No cloth even needed and I have got a lot of results doing it only once every two weeks or so!

I find it helps to deep clean my pores and I use only oils that are approved for acne prone skin and it works great for me but I only do it once a week as a deep cleansing method - it's great for sucking out all the crap in my pores that causes blackheads so that's my main use for it - my mix contains 40% jojoba 40% castor 10% the Dior cleansing oil and 5% tea tree n 5% maracuja oil - you should definitely do a trial run n see how your skin responds.
