We all know the makeup myth : if you wear makeup sooner, you'll age, but is this true? Write your opinions below vv.

It's a myth in my opinion. If you know how to take care of your skin, the healthier you'll look when you're older.

I agree with both of you guys. I think personally, it's the way you apply and take off your makeup and how we'll you take care of your skin. Also, tugging your eye area and harsh rubbing from trying to take the makeup off also play a role.

I think it's a myth. My grandma looks younger than other grandmas. Plus wearing makeup was like a physical barrier from the sun which would prevent collagen from breaking down as fast.. I mean there was a specific SPF to it I'm sure but even in ancient Egypt the Egyptians use kohl around the eyes which helped from the sun damaging their eyes

In my opinion, it's a myth. However even if it's true, it doesn't mean I'm going to stop wearing it. 😅

I really think it comes down to genetics and if you properly look after your skin.

Maybe it depends on the makeup I started wearing eyeliner in junior high when I was 12 but that has not aged me a bit :P.

I agree with Lorna. Genetics and proper skincare. If you go to bed with it on, eat junk food like its going out of style and don't follow a decent skincare method...you're going to age your skin with a quickness. Also for my oily skin beauties...using multiple products to rid their skin of oil slicks!! Drying your skin out for a matte finish is killing your skin in the long run. Oily skin ages at a much slower pace than any other skintype. Embrace the oil!!

I've actually heard that foundation cam create a barrier between you and environmental pollutation. So it might actually help your skin.

It's all about skincare. Moisturiser makes the world of difference.

Just judging from my mom that's a myth. She doesn't wear a lot of make up BUT she has been a serious tanning addict her whole life and at 51 it's catching up with her so she's look really aged. You've have to take care of your skin or you'll age
