How much are you looking to spend? You will need a few duplicates, keep that in mind. I've sort of cobbled mine together, with some that I've personally loved M.A.C 217, 168 and a few others. Some Crown brushes I got on HauteLook, they've twice had them on there so keep an eye on them. A B.dellium set from school. UD's Optical Blurring brush that I love. And then there's my shopping basket/window shoppers I visit that eventually I plan to get: some Kevyn Aucoin, Hakuhodo.
Do you have any pro memberships? You can get one fairly easily for Nigel's, quickly too!

SIGMA NOW OFFERS PROFESSIONAL DISCOUNTS 20% OFF. THE SETS ARE AMAZING. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAC BRUSH. I WILL BE HONEST. THEY ARE EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY. AND WORTH THE PRICE. ON THE CHEAPER SIDE STAY AWAY FROM COASTAL SCENTS (HIT AND MISS SETS), BH COSMETICS HAS GREAT STARTER BRUSHES.
