Hiiii lovely ladies! I need some professional hair help... I have naturally dark brown hair, and I really want to die it a light purpley violet/plum. In the passed I've had a similar colour put through but it just looks like a darker brown up close and the colour only really shows a tinge in the natural sunlight!! Can some one give me some tips on how I can achieve this please, certain products? If I should maybe bleach before hand (which I don't really want to do)?? Thank you.

Unfortunately you absolutely have to bleach to get such vibrant color otherwise it'll just be a purple tint. I've also used manic panic's purple haze and it only lasts through 2 or 3 washes just a heads up.

Yeah I figured I might have too, have you any idea what is the safest way to pre lighten your hair? Like anything without bleaching?7
I'm sorry I have no knowledge in hair colouring whatsoever! I probably won't try any of those semi-permanents because I want something long lasting

You'll have to bleach it but since it's a dark color you don't need to bleach it by much. You could use a 20 developer to get to a lighter brown, tone it and then color it and it'll be that color. Your hair color just needs to be at the same depth of color as that maybe just a little lighter and the hair color will make the tone that purple color :)

You do have to bleach or lighten your hair to achieve that color and I recommend you use the videl sasson london lilac I have that color and its lasted me weeks instead of days if you use any other dye
