My name's Steph and I'm 25 and I love make-up.
I included a picture of myself because I can't seem to determine my skin tone and undertone. I always pick the wrong foundation and powder. Can someone please help me determine my skin tone and undertone? I'm pretty pale and I tried ivory shades it does cover but it doesn't seem to compliment my skin well. Also I'm always doing the same old routine which includes black eyeliner, a neutral brown eyeshadow and a waterproof black mascara. I feel such a plain jane and I want to try something new. Can anyone provide me with some nice make-up tips? Thank you all in advance! Ps: here's the picture but it's a bit light enhanced sorry! Oh I was wearing an Ivory Powder from Max Factor, a black waterproof mascara from the Body Shop and I used a black Helena Rubinstein pencil.

Here are a few methods (since it's hard to tell from pictures):
-which looks better on you, silver or gold jewelry? Silver jewelry tends to look good on cool skintones, and gold on warm skintones. If both look good on you, you're probably neutral.
-what color are the veins in your wrists? In natural light, are they blue or green? Blue means you're cool toned, green means you're warm toned, and both means you're neutral.

Steph, you seem like a yellow or warm toned girl from this picture but it could be the lighting, and I agree with Hannah on the methods of finding out your skin tone, the colour of your veins will determine your undertone. Also, for choosing the right shade of foundation, match the shades to your face skin, not the skin on your wrists because the skin on the face tends to come in contact with the elements more often and hence can get darker. Hope this helps.

Sorry to be harsh but this question is like putting a wild animal in a bag and asking us to put our hand in to find out what it is.
Take a pic without makeup on. No tan, no bronzer, no filter pictures on Instagram. None of us will judge you on it.
Seriously there are a lot of lovely wonderful people on here that can give you get advise.

I love you without that foundation. Your skin is so gorgeous.
I'm sorry about my snappy comment. I was having a bad day.
I don't know if it was the lighting before but that foundation made you look one shade lighter than snookie lol.
Try a lighter shade of foundation. Get your lovely full brows done

Thank you. I don't mind everyone can have a bad day plus it's okay haha ;)
I used to have thicker brows though used to get them done a lot. Now it's been awhile but I guess it's about time to redo them.

You should try Bobbi Brown foundation. Yellow foundations fit everyone.
To enhance your looks, why not wear lipstick or gloss in different colors?
