excuse the redness...we have the wood stove going and the wood is pine (which I happen to be allergic too). The zyrtec works great so I can at least breath but my skin still freaks out.

I heard that pine is not good for anybody to use it in a wood stove! That its too sappy & the sap releases toxins! I just read that about a month ago because our neighbors wood stove is making me very sick when they use a certain smelling wood. You should be really careful!! Why not use something other than pine if your allergic babe?... Your makeup looks really pretty btw<3 Wish I could get my cat eye straight like that.. I suck @ it so bad!!

I love your thread question. It's the same for me. I do my makeup and think, "oh that looks good". Then I take a picture, look at it, look back at the mirror and think "wth?" Lol.

I can help a little bit with the picture. Daylight is better. If it's not daytime then a yellow light is better, you look like you're sitting in front of the glow of a computer? The blue/green glow is not flattering to skin. See how the 2nd shot is better. You also just need more wattage to show the colors of your shadows, so either some tru light bulbs or daylight.
Also the angle makes a difference, shoot from slightly above, it's more flattering.

Lol yeah. you fortunately most of the trees around here are some sort of pine or cottonwood and I hay fever as well. so I just take zyrtec and deal.
