I love Loreal True Match, they have the 3 different undertones you can choose from. Medium coverage, looks flawless, and gives a great natural finish.

The two best drugstore foundations in my opinion are Loreal True Match and Revlon Colorstay. Loreal has more color options. Revlon, I personally feel like, has better staying power. You could apply it with a stippling brush to get medium coverage or with a beauty blender sponge which will make it look almost flawless. Or you could use a flat foundation brush.

Also what's the best way to match your skin color for first timers? I definitely don't wanna walk around looking foolish lol.

The best way to match your skin is by swatching different colors on your jawline. The one that disappears the most on your skin is the better match. However, this can be difficult in most drugstores because they don't have testers nor good lighting and access to a mirror. At some places they might have a match sheet that shows all of the different colors and you can put the sheet over your skin to see which color looks best. But don't match it to the inside of your wrist because that part is usually lighter than the rest of your body. So honestly, I find the easiest way is to ask a sales associate at the makeup counter for help. Usually they're happy to help. It's just easier to have someone else match foundation for you.

Revlon colorstay is definitely full coverage. it can feel quite heavy on the skin. I am now loving Maybelline Matte Mousse. its awesome if you want light/medium coverage. just put a layer and youre good to go. if you need a little bit more coverage, you can always build it up. its matte finish & you don't really need powder on top. just my opinion :)

Finish means matte or natural. Try finding your skin tone then trying to match it to your neck/ jawline.
Look at the inside of your forearms. See the veins there? If they look more blue, you're probably cool undertones. If you see green veins, you're warm. So, blue veins = cool skin, green veins = warm skin. If you can't tell whether they're blue or green your probably neutral.
(This is optional may or may not help. It has been said to be incorrect but I don't know maybe it can help someone) Also if you wear more or look better in silver jewelry your more cool. If you wear more gold then warm. If you look good in both your probably neutral.

Okay normal skin is good to work with lol. And yes finish is either matte, semi matte, dewy, natural.
The best way to find your best match is by finding foundations with your corresponding undertones. Lynzie is spot on about finding out how :)
For instance, I have neutral-warm undertones. I have blue and green looking veins and I can wear gold or silver normally. I know I'm closer to warm beige tones because I can't wear certain cool tones lipsticks or hair colors.
After finding your undertone, determine if you are fair skinned, light skinned, light-medium, medium, or medium tan. Then look for a foundation that will match the qualities you picked. If your stuck between two, take the lighter, if it's a little too light, you can always bronze and add other things and it'll match :)

If you have dry skin try true match lumi. if your skin is oily try Revlon color stay or the regular loreal tru match.
