Hi ladies. I love doing my black smokey eye but the black base I use sucks. I use maybellines gel eyeliner as a base and it creases very bad, no matter how little or how much I use. :( I tried every method with it. So what should I use? :) any suggestions?

Do you use primer? And honestly if I'm doing a smokey eye I use the Urban Decay Perversion Pencil and their eyeshadow from the Black Palette in Black Dog (that might be discontinued). I agree though, Blackout is great. I don't need a base if I use those products.

Yeah I've used a primer and I tried a concealer. But the gel is just horrible. I don't even like it as a liner. I think I just need a good black shadow. ;) thanks ladies!!

Nyx jumbo eye pencil is great like everyone said! I also like using mac shoulder eye kohl all over the lid and blending it all over then using urban decay blackout eyeshadow!

Also have the NYX Jumbo Pencil. I got three of them (Milk, Strawberry Milk, and Black Bean) in a holiday set on clearance from Target for $4.99. Score! I use MAC Painterly Paint Pot as my everday eyeshadow base and I looooove it. I'm pretty sure they have a black one which would be perfect as a smoky eye base.
