I almost forgot :S

What beauty stereotype do you feel should disappear?

I'd change the whole idea that only 'fakes' wear make up!
I can understand how little kids associate make up with being fake, but if you're a grown person and think only fakes wear make up then you clearly need someone to sit down and explain art to you!

I completely agree. I have NEVER understood when people say that. How does it make any sense? Makeup is an art, just like drawing, and writing are. I think being fake isn't real ages to makeup in the least. IMO, it's more to do with your personality. This isn't necessarily a stereotype but people say that not a lot of people can rock black lipstick, and that black lipstick is goth, but I COMPLETELY disagree. I've seen people of all skin tones, and eye colors and features ROCK black lipstick. And I have a friend who is no where near goth and she rocks black lipstick at least once a week!

Agree with mikayla, and you kitty(:

Oh! That only light skinned people should wear bright colors(stereotype where I'm from, don't know about anyone else)...that needs to disappear because so many dark skinned girls pull off these beautiful popping colors!

Kitty K.

I agree Mikayla! When I don't wear any people are like 'But you look great without it!' I'm like how is that even relevant? I never said I wore it to 'Look pretty!' lol.
And I will do a dramatic eye as I feel! I love dramatic eyes on me - I find smokey eyes so romantic!

People with small eyes shouldnt tightline their lower water line with a dark liner. Small eyes are just as beautiful as big eyes. And if you want them to look bigger, go ahead. But I don't like the idea that people assume those with small eyes automatically want to make their eyes look bigger. Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 weeks rocked the black eyeliner & looked amazing!

Beauty stereotype that should disappear: Dark skin girls (African American) aren't beautiful.

Kalyn E.

It's all on how you apply the make up depends on how fake you look.

Katelyn P.

Symone..I completely agree. I've always hated being told that dark/heavy eyes/lip makeup is usually more evening appropriate.

Jan 23, 2014

Kirsten T.

There's makeup for literally everything. Because of judgmental people we use it to cover it up. It's like if you have a flaw you don't try hard.enough because there's way to fix it. if that even makes sense...

One beauty stereotype that needs to GTFO is that skinny = beautiful.. & the whole "thigh gap" phase.
being almost anorexic is just as unhealthy as being obese. having seen curves is part of being a girl. I don't understand why girls want to look like boards xD

Jan 23, 2014

Kitty K.

@Symone is it weird that I want to be dark skinned?
I feel like dark skinned girls can literally pull off EVERY EYE SHADOW COLOR and because its contrasting with color it looks so radiant and beautiful. Everytime I see beauty post a colorful look I'm like sighh...

Ugh Kyra the elusive thigh gap lol. I think if someone has one naturally it's fine, but that some girls obsess over it ( which I used to) and beat themselves up about it is just sad.

Jan 23, 2014

Kitty K.

I NEVER understood the point of the thigh gap.
I have one naturally and NEVER in my life did I go 'omg I am so fab I have a thigh gap'
On the contrary when I read about people going out of their ways to try and get one I was like..
'What is this shenanigans?? When the fudge do guys sit there and go OH MY GOD SHE IS SO HOT CHECK OUT HER THIGH GAPS THOSE THIGH GAPS BRO'.

Lindsay H.

That you need to have an absolutely beautiful body with abs and be perfectly toned to be beautiful I don't like when people are stereotypical about that.

Jan 23, 2014

Kitty K.

My boyfriends reaction to the thigh gap trend.

'LOL THAT MAKES NO SENSE WTF! babe I stare at your legs, and ass, and chest.. The bleep! do I care about the space between your thighs unless I'm moving them open? how is that even a trend? why are girls so weird?'

That's reality for you, lets worry about hair and make up and looking good and not the space between our legs xD

Jan 23, 2014

Lindsay H.

And that you should look like a Victoria's Secret model.

Jan 23, 2014

Isabel G.

I agree with Kitty Mikayla those stereotypes are so dum and the ppl who use them most are guys and girls who are jealous of girls that look damn good with makeup!

Jan 23, 2014

Imi W.

How guys think if you wear lots of makeup you're a 'slut' or 'asking for attention' not all guys but some it's like um I'm not doing it to impress you, e.g 'I hate red lipstick' um well I'm not going to be kissing you so why do you care

Jan 23, 2014

Shayley P.

I don't know about you girls!! but where I live, people think I'm stuck up because I always like to have my hair done & make up on and look "put together" sence I do that. It supposably means that I'm snobby and think I'm better then everyone, I hate since I like to look all dolled up I get looked at like I think I'm a snobby b*tch or something!

Jan 23, 2014

Symone B.

Lol @ Kitty. You're too kind. I never really understood why dark skin girls are considered "ugly." I personally embrace it and the people around me do as well. My nickname is Chocolate ❤️ and I know right, Hollie! I can't wrap my head around why being dark skin is such a horrible thing. Finding the right Makeup is a bit harder but like every skin tone we have to find what works on our complexion.

Jan 23, 2014

Mackenzi B.

That if you wear makeup, you don't like your face or think your pretty.

Jan 23, 2014

Imi W.

Dark skinned girls are so beautiful ❤️

Jan 23, 2014

Magaly E.

I say screw society's definition of beauty(: lol as long as we are happy with the way we look with makeup or without.. Gap or no gap.. Pale or dark.. Skinny or fat... We are all damn beautiful and like to enhance that (:

Jan 23, 2014

MaKenzie T.

That if you wear more makeup than the average girl, you must be trying to hide something you don't like about your face. I am very happy with the face I have and I know that although many don't agree, I am beautiful. I just want people to stop being so judgemental when they see someone wearing a dramatic eye or a bright lip color. We do it because it's a passion, makeup is fun and glorious!! excuse the last word, coupdnt think of anything else...
