I straightened my hair and I put heat protectant in my hair...but my hair smells burned. Is it normal? How can I make it stop smelling like that.

What heat protectant did you use?

Is the heat adjustable on your flat iron? And what heat protector are you using? This is either happening because you're straightening your hair on too high a heat and it's actually burning your hair through your heat protector, OR because you need a better heat protector. Either way, hair retains smells like crazy, so the only real way to get rid of that is shower. Spraying some perfume in your hair might mask it a bit, but don't spray too much because the alcohol can damage your hair as well.

Thank y'all! I think it's because I put it on to high

Get a new iron. I flat iron mine at 450 degrees and it never smells burned ( and yes without a heat protectant ).
