Help!! I have an interview for a job as a Children's photographer trainee, the email I received says it's an "informal" interview, I'm thinking to wear smart casual clothes but needs some ideas or should I go In business attire anyway??

No don't go in business attire as it may make you come accross uptight and inflexible. I will post some pics of examples for you in a few mins

Do you prefer dresses?

I recommend you go in professional attire. Not necessarily a suit (ONLY because the email suggested informal) but nice slacks and nice shirt. I do no recommend jeans. Always dress professional for any interview. Although it's not necessary, it speaks volumes.

I would steer clear of really tight clothing, sheer materials, and/or distracting makeup.

You could swap the jeans for nice trousers if jeans aren't the done thing where you are. I'm in England so it's an accepted look here

Thanks for the suggestions girls :-) I always dress quite smartly anyway & was thinking of wearing black jeggings with a smart flowery top & a nice cardigan with smart long boots, I do wear dresses if I'm in business attire but it's winter over here so I'm definitely going to wear trousers of some sort. Just wanted to make sure business suit was a no no, I'm just nervous because I've never been to an informal interview before, I have lots of suits etc... For normal interviews. Your suggestions have really  helped.

I wouldn't recommend jeggings... Leggings & jeans are neither good to wear to interviews lol! But I like the rest of your idea!
