I see so many of you with gorgeous natural nails but I have a horrible habit of picking/biting mine. they are ALWAYS as short as possible. any tips for over coming this and grow my nails long and healthy? possibly a way to speed that up? hah thanks in advance!

Go to Walgreens or CVS and get those bad tasting nail polishes and that will help with biting. For picking just stop yourself reward yourself if you don't pick. For growing out, regularly file and if you don't pick they will grow out in a week and a half. (most of the time I think those posts are like those acrylic nails) ;)

Girl I know exactly what you mean...I always you to bite my nails it was like a addiction I don't know but I loved how ling natural nails look so I just dwecided not to bite em nomore it wass hard but I jusst had to think posotive it helped to always have my nails painted and I would use a clear nailpolish add some chopped garlic to it and apply it to my nails.

There is a product called Nail Life or one one called Nailtek. Either is avail at Sally beauty supply or Ulta. I stopped biting by actually getting acrylics done. Waited it out 4-6 weeks till a major fill was due ( in the meantime I'd file down the cuticle edge so it wasn't a big bump & clear coat over it) and then go have them professionally removed. The KEY to these gorg nails you see is also a long nail bed which nail bitters don't have. Generally. Then I painted them w the polish I said above and followed the directions. They were a bit flimsy at first but keep up w the polish.!! It works. Cut the whites down a bit till the good thicker nail is grown out. Tips: I never went to an Asian nail salon. No offense to anyone but most incorrectly file the nail down and ruin the nail bed. Not cool. Find one in a reputable hair salon. Tip two: I always have to keep my hands hydrated and give my self a nice easy manny weekly. A Sunday afternoon thing Wte suits you. It helps them. Trust me. The best hydrating hand lotion I love is Aveeno Excema moisture lotion. Lastly I use Vaseline from a loopy tube always in my car or purse to keep my nails and cuticles hydrated every day. It soaks in fast and looks so clean. No dry cuticles to nibble on. Best wishes!!

It sounds weird but if you are tempted to bite your nails sit on your hands... so you are not able to bite your nails. Also, try thinking about how gross it is to bite your nails and how much bacteria there is. Again, it may sound weird but it really helped for me lol. X.

I'm really lucky to have really strong healthy natural nails, and they're pretty long now, and I realised that the "key" to my healthy nails is actually the nailpolish! So, when I don't have a nailpolish on my nails, they get really weak, etc. So, that is my advice, to use nailpolish as much as possible. :)
p.s. here's the photo of my nails??

Just keep painting them! Something bright. Make it something you do for yourself so you make that a good habit over the biting. When they start to chip touch up or repaint otherwise you will nibble. I'm a recovered nail biter.
