Honestly, a wedding dress is a very personal choice. I think you should look around at more styles that you like, & then maybe ask us what we think of them (:

I agree it is pretty personally. If I was doing a destination wedding and I was short I'd probably get a short dress. Do you want a simple dress just because you think it's better for a courthouse wedding? If that's the case I think you should get the dress you feel the most beautiful in. Here's 2 other suggestions. :) and congratulations!!
