I started dying my hair when I was 15/16 and I have always used semi permanent dye. I was just wondering is using semi permanent either better or worse than using permanent dye? 💇💗

Semi-Permanent Color: Washes Out in 6-12 Shampoos
If you're looking to subtly deepen your natural hair color or add a layer of color (such as a red tone on brown hair), a?semi-permanent color?is your best option. Keep in mind semi-permanents?darken?hair. Because they don't contain ammonia or peroxide, semi-permanent color can't lighten hair.
Semi-permanent color washes out over a period of time (six to 12 shampoos, depending upon the formula), so if you don't like the color, you don't have to live with it for too long. Another benefit of semi-permanent color: Because the color is temporary, you won't have to deal with noticeable roots.
If you want a more dramatic change (two or more shades darker or lighter than your natural hair color), A?permanent color?is a better option. It also works best on coloring gray hair.
permanent hair color contains a blend of peroxide and ammonia and removes pigment from hair while also depositing new color. It won't wash out and instead has to grow out. You'll need to re-touch roots every 6 to 8?
weeks.
So in so many words Semi-Permanent dyes are?better for you because they?do?not?contain ammonia

No it's not. Semi permanent hair dyes only coat the hair shaft. It doesn't penetrate it. Permanent hair dyes have the use of developer that open up the hair shaft then deposit the color. Therefore, semi is just a coating and less damaging. It's like the difference between a push bra and breast implants 😂😂

I like Symone's description xD
Semi dye is usually vegan, and some actually condition your hair. Like Symone said, the dye does not penetrate into your hair or scalp, though if you have a sensitive head your scalp may get dry.

Semi-permanent hair dye is a joke. I haven't dyed my hair in over a year, and I still had a red tint to my hair 8 months after.

But since it fades, you won't get harsh roots like you would with a permanent

The only difference I see between semi n Demi hair dye is that Demi lasts longer, which its supposed to.
