That seems clear to me. I explained that to my stylist and she knew what I was talking about. If your hair is in layers just say you want the bottom layer dyed.

You can ask for a shadowbox of royal blue, I don't know if that is a universal term, but thats essentially what its called when you have the bottom layer of your hair darker than the rest, usually from the ears/nape of neck down. Or just explain, the stylist will know what you mean(:

Also haley is correct (: I have heard multiple terms, but I've heard panel more.
